What about our toys, man?

What about the kick ass toys that we played with in the 70's? There are a thousand groups for Star Wars toys, so let's skip those. What about Stretch Armstrong, Evel Kneivel Stunt Cycle, and Squirmles?
I got a Squirmles for Christmas from a distant aunt. I remember in the commercial they would show it doing far out tricks and stuff, but I guess mine was defective.

Squirmles took practice. I got mine from a coupon off a Cherrios box; and they accidentally sent two. I probably still have them, but they're probably pretty mangy by now.

Squirmies was that little fuzzy wormy thing you'd tie to your shirt with a piece of thread, right? I loved those.

I still have an Evel Kneivel Stunt Cycle. They remade them a few years ago and my older brother bought me one because he always felt guilty about setting my Evel Kneivel on fire in the backyard and melting him. Man, that was some toxic smoke.

I loved my Squirmles, had at least a couple.I also remember when Trolls were Wishnicks, and oh the HR Puffin Stuff game was a gas!A weird one for me was always those parachutte guys.Anybody remember them? They came in different colours, were made of rubber, and had plastic wrap type chutes.I thought them creepy.I also could never get Superlastic Bubble Plastic to do those amazing things, and my Slinkys always tangled up.

    Shogun Warriors!
    Micronauts!

Toymakers need to be ashamed that they have not matched their coolness.

Evidently toy makers have relized all the cool stuff they made for us. That's why a lot of it's out again, to wit:
Evel Knevel Stunt Cycle Set (from Ideal!)
      Gnip Gnop game
Stay Alive game, all are availible at www.bettysattic.com
      Micronauts
GI Joe with Knug-Fu grip! (Hot Topic exclusive)
Classic HotWheels track sets with cars from 'back in the day'.

Now, if only someone would bring back the shogun warriors, (espicially Godzilla!) and the Tomy Pocket Games, it would be a Very Happy Holidays for all the "kids" in the house!!

My best friend had a Creepy Crawly set that was made out of cast iron. You would plug it in, it would reach scorching temperatures and then you would pour the toxic liquid plastic in. I would go home with fists full of plastic bugs and burn welts all over my hands and arms. Kids are such wusses now.

        STAY ALIVE! Loved that one.

What about the bionic woman doll- the wires were so cool! I liked weebles... when I was three. I wasn't into light brights but my friends liked them. I loved the easy bake oven and this popcorn maker I had was so cool. Does anyone remember baby alive! I absolutely loved that doll you actually fed her and she went to the bathroom in a diaper. The lips would move and make a whirring sound when you fed her Paula the polar bear -she talked when you pulled her string -she was my all time favorite!
