Who remembers Quark?
The short-lived t.v. show starrring Richard Benjiman as an inter-galactic garbage collector?
He had those two blond twins as his side-kicks?
What a strange show!

Re: Quark
Mon, April 23, 2007 - 10:43 PMOh yeah, the two doublemint gum twins. A lot of sexual innuendo in it.
It came out around the same time as the earth two tv series. -

Re: Quark
Tue, April 24, 2007 - 11:44 AMThat's right! I wasn't sure if that was them or not.

Re: Quark
Tue, April 24, 2007 - 1:59 PMI thought Earth 2 was much later. About what year are we talking? -

Re: Quark
Sun, April 29, 2007 - 9:44 AMI was very amused by the Star Wars spoof episode they did. May the "SOURCE" be with you!
As for the Earth 2 (II?), I think there might have been two TV shows with that title. The first Earth 2 was about a space space station in Earth orbit. The second was about a group of interstellar colonists who land on an Earth-like planet.

Re: Quark
Sun, April 29, 2007 - 11:29 AMYep, and let us not forget "The Schwartz!" from Space Balls.
You are right about the E2 series's, the second one was the one that had Clancy Brown and others on another planet. The first one had a space station but was a spin off from thepost nuclear holocaust movie with the same name that had Marietta Hartley as an attractive female mutant that wanted a man who had been in statis to help reactivate equipment that would let the mutants use the remaining nuclear missiles to wipe out the nearby human underground base. They were a slave keeping race that dressed in a rather colorful greco/roman style and used rods called Stims to torture people into submission.
The TV series used some of the old props and sets but was a lot lower budget and didn't last long. In both really deep tubes formed a high speed underground bullet train system that lead to places all over the globe. -

Re: Quark
Mon, April 30, 2007 - 9:54 AMI was thinking about the Earth 2 on the other planet. With the appalling "terrians" that could shift through solid rock. Dumb. But had a really compelling cast, and otherwise a good premise.
In this earlier Earth 2 did they have two navels? -

Re: Quark / Earth 2
Tue, May 1, 2007 - 1:44 AMGood memory there DC, yes they did. There is the rather striking scene of a young and statuesque Marietta Hartley showing her two navels. -

Right, so what was the rest of the show about? -

At that point I didn't care.... but seriously, in case you were seriously asking here is what I posted earlier:
