The Land of Frooz

I really should not be looking for anything on this show because watching it could send me into a coma, which you will understand if you've seen it. Does anyone else remember this? Nobody I know does, and though I did find one site on google, it is no longer up. Any info, froozles?

oh holy hell... yes, i remember this... it was AWFUL... even when i was a little kid i recognized it as truly bad television... it was like a train wreck though... you couldn't turn away from it.... but i'd give my right arm for a dvd of all the episodes, a full bong and a couple of bottles of red wine cos that would be a rockin' evening with some good friends, don't you think?

Not as cool as getting blind drunk and watching "Davey and Goliath"...that would be kickass!

I cant get that theme song out of my head. I remember there were puppets and a girl (the one in the painter hat) that would hang out in a caboose of a train. God, what a creepy consept. I've tried looking all over the place for pictures of this show, but I come up empty handed. "Now you're off.....To the land....of Frooz."

Please, please, let there be someone else out there that remembers a kids show in the late 70's
that was hosted by a girl w/ brown pigtales. and baseball cap or a cap w/ a propellar. And she flew around in a teacup, looking through a magnifying glass. Maybe it was a hot air balloon. The songs that run through my head when I think about it are " Thats Cat, That's Cat..." and " We're in the land of Frooze.."

Maybe I was a weird kid, but I LOVED the weirdness of that show. Especially the stupid jokes the puppets told at the very end while popping out of doors in the wall, w/ a mural of suns and flowers and crap on it. :)

            "What just ended?! WE DID."

I remember A LOT of details about that show for some odd reason. The girl with the pigtails was Muffin. She interacted with a lot of puppets (one of the puppets was on crutches, remember?), and there was always some lesson about being tolerant. They would open the window to the land of faraway places, and watch some shoddy filmstrip about China.
There was also a part where they would "fly" with their microscopes and say hello to various kids in the LA area. Ah, I loved it. Remember the whole song by heart too.

You're in the land of frooze
        a turn-a-pop world that's wacky
giggle with the froozles and snicker at the meanies that play

You're in the land of frooze
        (don't remember this line)
        (don't remember this line)

Snuggle up to Muffin, give your friend a hug
Let your eyes twinkle, fill your world with love
Slide down a rainbow, glide on a sunbeam
        Put on some laughter
        You've arrived...in the land...of frooze!

Okay, I guess I don't remember ALL the words. Weird lyrics, eh?

      OMG Elena! You ROCK!
I have asked my friends time and time again if they remember The Froozle Show w/Muffin. I sing the theme song,I describe the characters, I talk about " The Window To Far Away Places," but they all look at me like I'm insane.
I have to admit that I loved this cheesey little show! Rememeber when Muffin would play her guitar and sing in Spanish or in French? "Uno, dos and tres means 1 and 2 and 3...lalalalala. Ha-ha!
I wish they would put it out on DVD....that would be a great laugh!
Anyway's thank you for confirming that I'm not entirely insane! :)

OMG, that's right, she would sing songs in Spanish with her guitar! That's right! I remember that Uncle Fronze (not Frooze) was like, somehow the village leader or something. Someone had a problem, they'd go to Uncle Fronze. He was also the puppet that would use his magic paintbrush and paint a little scene that came to life. Remember, they'd walk in place, and the scenery behind them would move? I love it!

I remember this show all too well. Some of the opening lyrics said, "welcome to the land of frooze - where people are puppets - and puppets are people too..." WTF? I also remember the lady in overalls would fly around on a giant tea cup and look into a magnifying glass wave hello to children who had written in: "Oh look! There's little Jennifer and her sister Melissa! Hello down there!" Everytime I brought this show up to other people, they would accuse me of making it up. I think I was too young to realize what bad quality it was, because I LIVED for that show! I secretly wished she would say MY name when she rode the tea cup...

The show was around the 70's. And they had reruns on kdoc in orange county at 3:00 on channel 56. I used to watch it all the time. The them song went something like this. Where in the land of frooze so ....... Let your eyes twinkly fill give your friends a hug, slide down a rainbow slide on a sunbeam. Cuddle up with muffin. Put on some laughter in the land of frooze. Some clips they had muffin drawing on a blackboard then a blue screen was in the back then a puppet would come out. Another was at the end they had jokes in the little doors they would open. they had a dumb proffesor. At the end of the show they had a guitar that would make a retarded noise.

Alright ya'll...I actually just found an old tape I had of the froozles...I have about 7 episodes. It's so amazing rewatching. And SO bad. But, if for some reason people actually want to see it, please let me know and I'd be glad to copy it.

Man, we should start a Froozles support group. Or have a Froozles party.

        Anyway, lemme know: elenawhite_negre@hotmail.com

First, off, I am new to the group and found this by accident by a search on Yahoo.

Secondly, OMG, I had been transferring some cassettes (remember those?) and found some audio of THE FROOZLES stuff I taped years ago when it was on KDOC 56.

I watched that show originally on KHJ 9 before it became KCAL and loved the show. Today, I have to crack up at the special effects and puppets, especially the meanies. I taped segments on many different tapes from the KDOC days. I'd wished I'd taped more shows had I known this show would be gone from the airwaves.

BTW, hello Elena! I think a Froozles Fan group would be fun, too!

KDOC was awesome. Wally George, and Adventures with the Poorman (from KROQ)!

On KHJ TV you could see Movie Macabre, and Kung Fu Theater on Sundays.

Remember the old channel 5? Remember Tom Hattin's Popeye Show? Tom Hattin would get a squiggle from his viewer mail bag and make some 1930's cartoon character out of it that my sister and I had never heard of. It came on on Saturday mornings, then afterward you had the Little Rascals, then the Three Stooges.

Hi! Good to see you here. Just want you to know, I watch your 80's commercials you made me every night. My husband is getting sick of them, but I don't care. "Exciting things are happening at Wickes Furniture!"

I am SO glad I've stumbled upon this. I thought it was hard finding people who remember Great Space Coaster but my sister seems to be the only other person to remember Land of the Frooz.
That show scared me so much I was afraid to change the channel.

OMG! I loved this show too! I used to watch an entire morning of PBS as a kid - Reading Rainbow, Electric Company, Pinwheel (I think was on there), 3-2-1 Contact, Electric Company, Sesame Street, etc! I am so glad I'm not the only one who remembers the Froozles. There is actually a you tube video up now of the opening theme song.

OMFG!!! I am sooo glad that there are people that remember that show... I always bring it up and describe the content of the show with the hand puppets with the neon colored hair and there was this part of the show with a wall that had little doors and the puppets would take turns and pop out alternately.... What I wouldnt give to hear the theme song again....

    LMAO!!!
